The inheritance with multinational
I offer my deepest condolences for the loss of your loved one in a foreign country. Procedures are required for the remaining estate:
- Which country's law to proceed under
- Certificates of birth, marriage, and death
- Identification of spouse, children, heirs
- Presence or absence of a will
- Investigation of the estate, bank account, insurance, stock
- Negotiation and agreement on estate division with the bereaved family
Official documents such as family registry copies and seal certificates are required to be presented.
For those from countries without a family registry system, such as the UK or the US, it may be difficult to obtain a family registry copy and the procedures can be challenging.
Please consult with a specialist. We will support the remaining family members.
Reactivating a frozen bank account
Dealing with numerous inheritance documents in Japanese Kanji can be complicated. The general inheritance procedures require documents:

- Family register for all family members
- Certificate of Seal Impression for all family members
- All family member's agreement on division of inheritance
- Notarized Will
- Handwritten Will with court certification
For foreign nationals, dealing with numerous official documents in Japanese Kanji can be complicated. It is recommended to consult with a professional.
Stock and Market property inheritance
You do not need to sell the stocks the deceased person was investing in, or those you do not wish to let go of when going through the inheritance process. It is possible to transfer the stocks owned by the deceased person to the inheritor(s) through a change in ownership. The requirements may vary depending on the brokerage firms, but generally, documents such as the deceased person's birth records, removal from the registry and the inheritor's family register and seal certificate are necessary. For foreign nationals without a family register, the process may take longer, but it is still feasible.
Surrendering a driver's license
The number of car accidents caused by elderly drivers is increasing. If you think it's about time, take action before an accident occurs. Let's protect our parents as soon as possible so that they won't become victims or causers of accidents.
